He is not here: for He is risen!

Dear Family and Friends,

This has been such a special week for me in remembering our Savior's love and infinite atonement. How amazing to think that through our Savior, we can become clean from sin and be able to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. My ponderize scripture for this week will be in Matthew 28:6: "He is not here: for he is risen, as he said.  Come, see the place where the Lord lay." It brings us such great peace to know that we can live again through the mercy and grace of our Savior and as we are faithful to the gospel, we can live with our loved ones in a fullness of Joy.

The start of transfers went great! I was able to stay here in Las Palmas and 10th Ward. It has been amazing that I have been here for almost 6 months! It has truly been a blessing being able to serve the people here in this area and to serve along side the members here as well. It has also been a blessing to work alongside my new companion Elder Lambert. He has a great knowledge of the scriptures and is an amazing teacher. Already I have learned many things from him and I am excited for the bright future of this transfer!

This past week was very special in sharing the "Hallelujah" video that the church produced. I loved how the video showed all of the pictures of family members that have passed on and that through Christ and His resurrection, we can live with them again as eternal families. Through our Savior we can find peace as we repent and come unto Him. We can overcome the trials of this life and be worthy to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father.

We had the opportunity throughout his past week to teach Juan from the Oliveira family. He has a great personality! He loves playing the guitar! It was neat seeing his skills and abilities in music. It has been such a blessing being able to see his growth in the gospel and his desire to learn and improve. It has been amazing seeing his desire to obey the word of wisdom and to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We're excited to see his example in living the word of wisdom help his mother and father overcome their trials as well.

This past Sunday for Easter was very special. We were able to have testimony meeting which was very powerful and made me really reflect on the sacrifice of our Savior and His infinite atonement. We also had the chance to have Daniel's confirmation as well. It was great being able to see the joy and happiness come from his family. I can't wait to see him get the priesthood and receive a calling in the church! I know his family will be a great blessing to the members of 10th Ward.

I know that my Redeemer lives. His gospel is the way that we may find peace in this life and eternal happiness in the world to come. He has provided us a way to overcome our trials and to be supported in times of affliction. I am so very thankful for the scriptures as well as latter-day prophets who help us to strengthen our testimony and love for our Savior.

Thank you all for the prayers they help out a lot. I am so very thankful for you all and hope you have a great week!!

Love ya!

He is the light and the life of the world...

Hello everyone! This has been a very special and exciting week for us!  I can't express how thankful I am for this Gospel and for the opportunity to serve in the mission field. It has been such a blessing being able to see the light of the Gospel enter others homes and seeing the love of our savior grow in their lives. My ponderize scripture for this next week is in Mosiah 16:9 : "He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." Our Savior is the light and life of the world. I am eternally thankful that we have a Savior that through Him, we can overcome death and sin and be able to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father. It is truly comforting to me that His light is endless and that it will never be darkened. Our Savior is always there. He is there to help us back onto the path that leads to peace of mind, happiness and joy. He promises us through our faith and obedience to His commandments, the gift of eternal life with our families.

On Saturday, we had the amazing opportunity to have Bro. Cruz receive his endowments in the San Antonio Texas temple. It was such an amazing experience being able to see the happiness and joy radiate from him and his family. The temple is so beautiful! It's amazing to see all of the architecture and especially the stained glass on the windows of the Temple. We were able to attend a live sealing for the Sanchez family as well that same night. It was a very neat experience being able to see the fullness of the blessings of the church being performed at the Temple.

Yesterday, we were able to have Daniels baptism! It was great being able to see all of the support from his family and friends. It has been an amazing blessing being able to see the lives of his family strengthened and fortified in having him be baptized into the church.  Already he has seen tremendous blessings come into his life in being involved in the church and in the Gospel. I am a very thankful for this gospel and for the opportunity to see people change and become closer to our Savior. I know that the Brooks family will continue to be strong in the Gospel and will soon be able to have the priesthood in their home.

This past week we were able to meet with the Olivera family and were introduced to their son Juan. We were able to set him with a baptismal date for the 17th of April! It has been very exciting being able to see Stephanie and Jesse be baptized this past December and then to see Juan be baptized this coming spring! It has been a major blessing being able to see his desires to learn and to be baptized grow. We are excited to continue meeting with him!

Transfers are here! It turns out I will be staying here in Las Palmas and 10th Ward for another transfer. My companion Elder Nelson will be going up to Austin and I will be getting my new companion, Elder Lambert tomorrow. I am very thankful to continue working here and in seeing the work progress and roll forth. There is so much potential here! We are excited to further find those who are receptive and who desire to find the fullness of our Savior's Gospel.

Sorry that this email is short but I want you all to know how much I love you! Thank you all for the letters as well as the emails. I hope you all have a great week! Love ya!!

Love,

Elder Munro

I am the resurrection, and the life...

Hello Everyone!

This has been such a special week for us! We have been able to see many miracles and blessings from the Lord. This has been an amazing time being able to share the message of the gospel and in helping others feel of the love of the Savior.

My ponderize scripture for this week is John 11:25-26: "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"  I love this scripture because of the names that it gives of our Savior. Through Him we can have new life and begin again no matter how many times we have fallen. Not only can He forgive our mistakes, it is through Him that we are able to live again. It is through His infinite and eternal sacrifice that we can receive a fullness of joy and happiness. It is amazing to think of all of the blessings that our Heavenly Father has given us through the precious gift of his beloved Son.

Yesterday we were able to have Ramon's baptism! It was such a special experience being able to see his family from Houston come and to see their support in this new step that he is taking in his life. It was very special to participate in his baptism and to see the happiness and joy radiate from him. I know as he continues to do what is right, he will have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost and will continue to grow and be lead and guided in all things.

We are excited to continue meeting with Daniel Brooks in preparation for his baptism this coming weekend. We are excited to see his progression and to see his faith and testimony increase. It will be exciting to see him get the priesthood in a short while as well! I know he will become a great strength to his family and will be strong and firm in the gospel. We have been able to work with the Rodriguez family recently in helping them become active in the church. We were able to stop by this past week to visit with her and her family. One night she opened the door and was surprised that we would stop by. We shared the temple invitation by President Monson and bore our testimonies of the strength we receive as we go to the temple. She could not help but cry as she too bore her testimony of the church and of the gospel. We are excited to continue seeing her and helping her family become active again in church. It is so exciting being able work with the less-actives in our area in helping them become active again and in finding those who are ready to be baptized. The work here doesn't slow down!

I am so very excited for this upcoming month in celebrating the life and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The church has been able to produce a new Easter video on lds.org that is very neat in talking about how we can find new life through our Savior. We can be forgiven of our past and be reunited with our loved ones who have passed on. I know that our Savior lives and that He loves us all so much. He wants us to use His precious gift to find happiness and joy here in this life. No matter what physical or spiritual trial we experience in this life, we can always look to the enabling power of His atonement.  Because our Savior overcame the world, we can always look to Him for the strength to endure the trials of this life.

Thank you all for the letters and the emails! I love being able to hear back from home. Hope you all have a great week! Love ya!!

Love,

Elder Munro

Mom: Thank you mom for the Easter package! I love the ties and the card! Thank you for all that you do for me. I'm sorry to hear about Bro. Eaton. I will continue to pray for his family that they may find comfort. I know that he is in a better place free from the pains that his incident caused. I'm glad that grandma Munro is doing well as well. How has life been back home? Has the weather been warming up or is it still a little bit cold? It has started to warm up a lot more here! It will be pretty interesting to see how summer will go! Just to let you know transfers will be on the 22nd of this month. I have a feeling that I might be transferred from this area. It's hard to say but we will have to see! Tell the whole family I love them so much!!! I hope you have a great week mom! Love you forever!!

And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of Him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of Him: That He lives!

Hello everyone! This has been such a special week for us in seeing the miracles and blessings that come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is truly remarkable to think about the blessings and joy that we receive as we live and apply the principles of the Gospel. This month we have the great opportunity to celebrate the life, ministry, and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Not only did He establish His church and performed many miracles, He continues to live today and the tender blessings and peace that come through His Atonement are with us.

My ponderize scripture this week will be D&C 76:22-24 : "And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of Him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of Him: That He lives!  For we saw Him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that He is the Only Begotten of the Father—  That by Him, and through Him, and of Him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God."

It is truly amazing to ponder how much it means to us to have a Savior and that He was able to atone for all of our mistakes and our shortcomings. He has felt all of our pains and sorrows and through Him, we can have lasting peace and a sure foundation to overcome any trial and challenge. We can always look to our savior for help and guidance. He will never leave us alone. He will always be by our side.

This past week has been a very great week for us. Many miracles have been seen and we are truly grateful for the eyes to see them everyday in the work. As we have been teaching Sophia, we have been able to find many tender mercies in being able to prepare her for her baptism. We were able to get permission from her father to baptize her which was a huge sign that she needs to be baptized. We have also been trying to help Carlos in seeing the blessings of missionary work. We are hoping that he can begin preparing for his mission in the near future!

Yesterday we had the amazing opportunity to have Sophia Mendez's baptism! It was such a special day to be able to see her family there to support her in her decision to be baptized into the Lords true church. It was such a blessing being able to have her brother Carlos be ordained to a priest and be able to baptize her that same day. It has been a tremendous blessing being able to see lives change and come closer to our Heavenly Father and our Savior.

Daniel is continuing to progress and we are still going by to see how he is doing with the Word of Wisdom. We have been seeing so much light come into his life as well as his family as they have been going to church and in living the Gospel. We invited him to be baptized on the 20th of this month! We are very excited for this opportunity to continue teaching him and preparing him for his baptism. Ramon has been doing great! We are excited to see him baptized this coming weekend. It's so neat being able to see his understanding grow and his spirit being enlightened. I am so very thankful for this Gospel!

The weather here has been a very nice change from the constant 80 degrees. It is pretty amazing how much different the weather is here than in Idaho at this time of year. I'll be frozen this time of year when I get back home! It will be pretty interesting to see how summer will go here in these next few months.

I am so excited for this time of year. I love being able to ponder more fully our Savior and His love for all of us. It's truly amazing that because our Savior died and atoned for us, we can be freed from sin and receive a perfected, resurrected body. I am eternally thankful for my Savior, Jesus Christ. He loves us all so much and wants us to use His precious gift so that we can receive lasting and enduring peace.

Thank you all for the prayers, they truly help so much. I love you all so much!! Hope you all have an amazing week!

Love,

Elder Munro
